According to the world wealth report released earlier this year, a total sum of $2.1 trillion is held by Africa’s private sector. The number is expected to jump 38% come 2032.
Another thing about the report is that 50% of Africa’s wealth is currently concentrated in just five countries. Also, there are currently 136, 000 individuals with net worths of over a million dollars living across the African continent.
In the same way, the continent has about 6,700 multimillionaires, with net worths of at least $10 million. A total of 305 centi-millionaires are living in Africa. The number of dollar billionaires in Africa currently stands at 21.
Here are the top five counties with the highest number of dollar millionaires.
1 . Firstly, SOUTH AFRICA
There are some 39, 3000 high net worth individuals in South Africa who have net worths of over $1 million. The total number of multimillionaires in this country stands at 2,080. They also have 94 centi millionaires as well as 5 billionaires. The total private wealth in the country is registered at an overwhelming $651 billion. This is the largest in Africa.
2 . Secondly, EGYPT
Egypt has 16,900 high net worth individuals who have net worths of over $1 million. The total number of multimillionaires in this country stands at 880. With 57 centi millionaires as well as 7 billionaires.
3 . Thirdly, NIGERIA
The country has 10,000 high-net-worth individuals in Nigeria. These persons have net worths of over $1 million. The total number of multimillionaires in the country stands at 510. The country also has 28 centi millionaires as well as 4 billionaires. Their total private wealth as a country is registered at $228 billion.
4 . Next is KENYA
There are some 8,500 high-net-worth individuals in Kenya. These people have net worths of over $1 million. The total number of multimillionaires in the country stands at 340. With 15 centi millionaires and no billionaire. The total private wealth in the country is registered at $91 billion.
5 . Lastly, MOROCCO
There are some 5,000 high-net-worth individuals in Morocco. They have net worths of over $1 million USD. The total number of multimillionaires in this country stands at 220. They have 22 centi millionaires as well as 3 billionaires.
