ROLE: Technical Officer – Maintenance
About the company
4Ward Development is a safe water company (SWE) that has been around for a long time. It has business branches in Ghana and Uganda that offer safe water services on a district-wide scale. Our goal is to go above and beyond what country customers expect by making sure they always have access to high-quality water.
Summary of Position
The Technical Officer – Maintenance will be in charge of all kinds of maintenance, including fixing technical problems, figuring out what’s wrong with broken equipment, and fixing it. The Officer will also be in charge of fixing routine problems with all NUMA systems, finding and fixing structural problems with NUMA technologies, and making sure that upkeep records are up to date.
The person in charge makes a plan for routine maintenance and inspections of NUMA installations in order to do preventive maintenance on all NUMA water installations so that they don’t have to be shut down for long periods of time. He or she will have to make sure that NUMA systems work as well as possible and help the Zonal Field Officer take care of NUMA water systems.
Time Allocation of Responsibilities
- All NUMA water devices should have preventive maintenance done on them.
- Take care of fixing and maintaining NUMA’s water systems
- Fix all Numa systems’ electrical, plumbing, and mechanical parts.
- Diagnose mechanical problems with NUMA kiosk tools and equipment and fix them
- Make sure the NUMA water quality standards are met by testing the water quality of the devices on-site on a regular basis.
- Help with supervising trenching and laying pipes for expansion in communities
- Help with the Water Kiosk Installation and solar panels layout
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance routines, upload information to the NUMA app, and report.
- Schedule regular upkeep and inspections for the Numa Kiosk so that broken equipment can be fixed and the systems work at their best.
- Help the Zonal QCs keep the Numa Systems in good shape.
- A quick-response service that fixes, maintains, and fixes problems with College systems and equipment
- Also, Do any other work that the Operations boss might give you.
Other responsibilities
- Work with Zonal Officers to make sure that planned and regular maintenance is done on time and well.
- Create a plan that can be used in real-time and that can predict the repair needs of NUMA’s water systems.
- Make sure that all NUMA technologies can be maintained in a smooth and easy way.
- Ensure a cost-effective and efficient repair process
- Keep up-to-date records of everything that needs to be fixed.
Key Results to Expect
- To cut down on system downtime:
- Cost-efficient repair process: Expected to make sure that the group follows financial rules and laws so that it doesn’t get in trouble legally or financially.
- Proactive/anticipatory maintenance regime: In charge of the organization’s supply chain, which includes purchasing, managing inventory, and distributing goods and services on time and at a fair cost.
- Data Analysis: The person is expected to look at financial and logistics data and suggest ways to make the organization run better and more quickly.
- Writing a Report: A fast financial accounting report that is both effective and accurate
Required Skills or Experience
Education
- University degree in civil or geological engineering, geology, hydrology, or a similar field.
Experience
- Not less than three (3) years of experience working in a similar role, or any combination of experience, schooling, and/or training that gives the same level of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Situation at work: Office – Environment of a Field Office; Must be ready to move to Wa in the Upper West Region
Travel Requirements This job requires some travel, but not too much. Being able to ride a motorcycle will be a plus.
