2025 Brooks International Fellowships in the UK
The Brooks International Fellowship Programme 2025, a collaboration between the Tate and the Delfina Foundation, is an exciting opportunity for artists worldwide. As it enters its 11th year, this prestigious fellowship invites talented individuals to engage in a unique 6-month experience.
The program aims to foster creativity and collaboration among artists from diverse backgrounds, encouraging them to share their perspectives and techniques. Throughout the fellowship, participants will have the chance to work hands-on with professional teams at the Tate, one of the leading institutions in the art world. This practical experience will allow artists to develop their skills while contributing to significant projects.
Additionally, fellows will reside at the renowned Delfina Foundation in London, providing an inspiring environment that nurtures artistic exploration and growth. The fellowship starts on June 23 and ends on December 7, 2025. This year, there are 2 special Fellowship positions open.
1. Tate St Ives Program Team Fellowship
Location: Tate St Ives (working together from a distance with a trip to Cornwall, UK)
Main Topics: The Fellow will help create the Artists Programme at Tate St Ives, focusing on:
- Activities that connect people and help build communities.
- Themes about climate and fairness in society.
- Creating global partnerships and building connections with different cultures, including Indigenous communities.
Responsibilities
- Look into residency programs that focus on being eco-friendly and working well with the community.
- Work together to create plans for artist residency programs that are good for the environment and also make financial sense.
2. Tate Modern Curatorial Division Fellowship
Location: Tate Modern, London
Focus Areas: This research Fellowship looks at how ink art changed in East and Southeast Asia during the 20th century, focusing on:
- The mix of old ink methods and new Western art styles.
- Adding to Tate’s collection and helping with exhibitions and displays.
Responsibilities:
- Look at how today’s ink artists have changed and updated old ways of making art.
- Work together with museum colleagues to share a detailed story about how ink has developed, connecting different times and cultures.
Living and Working Arrangements
Both Fellows will stay at the Delfina Foundation, which is a lively place for artists to work together. Residents are given:
- A one-bedroom with shared bathrooms and kitchens.
- A space to work at Delfina Foundation and Tate locations.
- Chances to meet and hang out with other people who live here and join in activities.
Eligibility Requirements
This chance is available for visual arts workers who are not in the UK. Applicants need to show:
- Knowledge and skills in the specific area of their selected Fellowship.
- A promise to work together with others from different countries and to create new art.
