2023 Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship
International students are invited to apply for the 2023 Hong Kong Ph.D. fellowship. With this scholarship, international students can apply to study at Top Universities in Hong Kong.
Interested international students with Bachelor’s degrees can apply for direct Doctorate degree Fellowship programs. Also, international students can apply for Master’s degree Scholarship programs.
Students can apply to study in all academic disciplines. Currently, there are 300 scholarships available to international students. Students are not required to submit IELTS that is if students completed their previous education using the English Language.

Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Benefits
Successful applicants will benefit from the following:
- Firstly, an annual stipend of HK$309,600. That is an estimated value of US$39,700. This will Cover Housing and Meals.
- Secondly, conference and research-related Travel Allowance of HK$12,900
- Additional support for students who need more than three years to complete a Ph.D. degree program.

International students will be selected based on the following Criteria:

How to Apply?
Interested students should follow the steps below to submit their applications.
- Firstly, interested and qualified students should make an Initial Application online using the Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme Electronic System (HKPFSES). This will enable them to get an HKPFS Reference Number before the closing date of 1st December 2022. After this, students can begin submitting their applications for Ph.D. admission to their preferred universities.
- Secondly, students can choose a maximum of two programs/ departments at one or two universities for Ph.D. study. However, students should comply with the admission requirements of their selected universities and programs.
- Thirdly, to avoid scholarship applications from being rejected, students should submit their applicants as early as possible:
- Submit Initial Application to Research Grants Council
- Submit Full Applications to Proposed Universities
- Lastly, students should submit full applications for their selected Ph.D. programs to the proposed universities after completing an initial application. They should quote their HKPFS Reference Number.
