2023–24 fully funded Wallonia–Brussels International Excellence Grants Program (Belgium)

Thanks to the Wallonia-Brussels International Excellence Grants Programme (IN WBI), Wallonia-Brussels universities can host international researchers for postdoctoral studies or research programs.

At the postdoctoral level, this program provides both long-term, renewable scholarships with a minimum duration of one year and short-term, non-renewable scholarships with a duration of one to three months.

It is possible to enroll in post-doctoral programs at Belgian universities through the fully funded Wallonia-Brussels International Excellence Grants Programme 2023–24.

Benefits of a scholarship

• A monthly payment of 2,120 euros to cover living costs, housing, educational costs, and domestic travel costs;
• Wallonia-Brussels International (WBI) to pay for international travel expenses (one round trip for the duration of the program)
• For non-EU fellows, WBI provides “healthcare” insurance. For long-term fellowships only, WBI is responsible for “repatriation assistance” insurance.

All nationalities of international students are eligible to apply for this award.

Eligibility Requirements

Researchers from any nation who hold a Ph.D. degree from a specific foreign university and who want to pursue a postdoctoral program in a university run or supported by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

Application Methodology:

The form must be typed and emailed to the program manager as a single PDF file with a maximum file size of 10 MB.
