The Ghana Insititute of Journalism admission forms for the 2022/2023 academic year is available. Interested and qualified candidates can apply for the 2022/2023 GIJ Undergraduate Admissions. Kindly, read more for qualification details below:

Therefore, the management of the Ghana Institute of Journalism School wishes to bring to inform the general public that applications are open for the admission of prospective applicants to the following programs:

UNDERGRADUATE REGULAR PROGRAMMES AT GIJ

Interested applicants can apply to be offered the following undergraduate Programs:

FACULTY OF JOURNALISM AND MEDIA STUDIES

  • B.A IN COMMUNICATION STUDIES [JOURNALISM OPTION]
  1. Regular
  2. For the above program, there is a Top-Up Weekend Session (Lectures are on Saturdays & Sundays, 7.00 am – 8.00 pm)

Also, FACULTY OF PUBLIC RELATIONS, ADVERTISING & MARKETING At GIJ

Again, interested applicants can apply to be enrolled in the following undergraduate Programs:

  • B. A. IN COMMUNICATION STUDIES [PUBLIC RELATIONS OPTION]
  1. Regular
  2. For the above program, there is a Top-Up Weekend Session (Lectures are on Saturdays & Sundays, 7.00 am – 8.00 pm)

Lastly, FACULTY OF INTEGRATED COMMUNICATIONS At GIJ

Also, interested applicants should check the following Master of Arts Programs and apply:

  • DIPLOMA IN COMMUNICATION STUDIES
  1. Regular
  2. For the above program, there is an Evening Session (Lectures start from 4.00 pm – 8.00 pm)

Therefore, Check GIJ UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Firstly, SSSCE HOLDERSApplicants must possess passes (A – D) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, including English, Mathematics, and three (3) elective subjects with an overall aggregate of 24 or better.
  • Secondly, WASSCE HOLDERSApplicants must possess passes(A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, including English, Mathematics, and three (3) elective subjects with an overall aggregate of 36 or better
  • Also, GCE ADVANCED LEVEL HOLDERSApplicants must possess a General Certificate of Examinations (GCE) ‘A’ Level Grade E or better in three (3) subjects, at least, one of which should be Grade D or better Credit passes i.e. Grade 6 or better in five (5) GCE Ordinary Level (‘O” Level) subjects including English, Mathematics and a Science subject, for non-science students.
  • Lastly, MATURE STUDENTS Persons wishing to enter the Ghana Institute of Journalism as Mature Students must be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is at least 5 years old at the time of application
  • Lastly, applicants must pass an Entrance Examination and Selection Interview.

Candidates will be selected based on a competitive cut-off point for the year.

  • Diploma – GH¢200.00
  • Degree – GH¢250.00
  • Finally, Mature (Tutorial & Examination) – GH¢650.00

International Applicants

  • Diploma & Degree – USD$100.00

HOW TO APPLY FOR GIJ POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION

1. Online Application:

  • To begin with, Pay your application fee at any Fidelity Bank Branch by providing your name (as will appear on your application) and telephone number.
  • Afterward, You will be provided with your application number at the bank.
  • Thereafter, Go to https://gij.edu.gh/how-to-apply-undergraduate/ to begin and complete your application online.
  • However, you will need a valid email address to complete the online application.
  • Once the process has been completed, applicants must print out and keep a copy of the completed application form for the verification process.
