GIJ ADMISSION FORM

The Ghana Insititute of Journalism admission forms for the 2022/2023 academic year is available. Interested and qualified candidates can apply for the 2022/2023 GIJ Postgraduate Admissions. Kindly, read more for qualification details below:

Therefore, the management of the Ghana Institute of Journalism School of Graduate Studies and Research (SoGSaR) wishes to bring to inform the general public that applications are open for the admission of prospective applicants to the following programs:

POSTGRADUATE REGULAR PROGRAMMES AT GIJ

Interested applicants can apply to be offered the following Master of Arts Programs:

  • JOURNALISM
  • PUBLIC RELATIONS
  • MEDIA MANAGEMENT
  • DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION

For the above programs, there are 15 months of intensive programs according to the semester system. Hence, lectures begin at 3.00 p.m. each day, from Monday to Friday.

Also, POSTGRADUATE WEEKEND PROGRAMMES At GIJ (FRIDAY AND SATURDAY)

Again, interested applicants can apply to be enrolled in the following Master of Arts Programs:

  1. PUBLIC RELATIONS
  2. DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION

Also, for the above programs, there are 15 months of intensive programs according to the semester system with lectures on Friday at 3.00 pm and Saturday at 7.30 am.

Other POSTGRADUATE programs At GIJ – SANDWICH

Also, interested applicants should check the following Master of Arts Programs and apply:

  • Firstly, Journalism
  • Secondly, Public Relations
  • Also, Media Management
  • Lastly, Development Communication

Also, the above programs shall be held for over two (2) sandwich semesters of 8-weeks, (June-July) per semester.

Therefore, Check GIJ POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • To begin with, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism or any recognized University, with at least Second Class Lower Division.
  • Alternatively, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in other disciplines from any reputable University with at least Second Class Lower Division
  • Also, GIJ final year Bachelor’s degree students are eligible to apply as awaiting results applicants.
  • Lastly, applicants must pass an Entrance Examination and Selection Interview.

Kindly Note:

Interested candidates from Non-English speaking countries must also have a minimum level of English Language Proficiency in the following: GSCE/O LEVEL, IELTS and TOEFL.

Ghanaian Applicants

  • M.A. – GH¢300.00

International Applicants

  • Postgraduate – USD$150.00

HOW TO APPLY FOR GIJ POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION

1. Online Application:

  • Pay your application fee at any Fidelity Bank Branch by providing your name (as will appear on your application) and telephone number.
  • You will be provided with your application number at the bank.
  • Go to https://gij.edu.gh/how-to-apply-postgraduate/ to begin and complete your application online.
  • Note: you will need a valid email address to complete the online application.
  • Once the process has been completed, applicants must print out and keep a copy of the completed application form for the verification process.
